Vic Laven, Owner of Oven Rescue Southport

Oven Rescue Southport

Vic joined the Oven Rescue oven cleaning franchise in June 2025, opening Oven Rescue Southport, and has made a fantastic start to her oven cleaning business in just six months. Since completing her training, she has steadily built a loyal local customer base and is already enjoying the rewards of running her own business.

For Vic, the biggest benefit of becoming an Oven Rescue franchisee is the independence that comes with being self employed whilst also receiving support and being backed by a trusted brand and secure business model.

“The best thing about being an Oven Rescue franchisee is working for yourself, without being alone,” Vic says. “You can organise your own time and build a business that’s yours.”

Since launching her oven cleaning business, Vic has been very pleased with how quickly things have taken off. Much of her work now comes through recommendations, as satisfied customers pass her details on to friends, family and neighbours.

“I’m so glad I made the leap and joined Oven Rescue. I’m really proud of how well the first six months have gone,” she explains. “Word of mouth has been brilliant and a lot of my jobs now come from people recommending me.”

Like many successful local oven cleaning businesses, Vic stays busy throughout the week and currently completes around eight oven cleaning jobs per week, with her diary usually booked around a week in advance.

What’s particularly impressive is that 100% of her work has been self generated, showing how quickly she has been able to establish herself as a trusted local oven cleaner.

Vic keeps her marketing simple and affordable, spending around £25 per week boosting posts on Facebook and Instagram. Combined with great customer service and local recommendations, this approach has helped her steadily grow her business.

One of the things Vic enjoys most about the job is meeting new people and building relationships with customers in her area.

“I love chatting to people and interacting with customers,” she says. “Everyone is really friendly and it makes the job enjoyable. I’ve even had people stop me in the supermarket to ask about booking an oven clean, which shows how powerful word of mouth can be.”

Looking ahead, she’s excited to build on the strong foundations she has established in her first six months.

“I’m already starting to see repeat customers, which is great,” she says. “It’s nice seeing the business grow and knowing the support from head office is always there. I’m also looking forward to improvements to the website that will help bring even more enquiries for me.”

For anyone considering starting their own oven cleaning franchise, Vic has some practical advice.

“Start advertising while you’re still in training so you hit the ground running,” she explains. “If you start promoting your business early, you can have jobs booked ready for when you finish training.”

She also recommends getting out into the local community and promoting the business wherever possible.

“Hand out leaflets, talk to people locally and start getting your name out there straight away. Working your own hours is great and you can fit the work around your schedule. I’m really proud of how far I’ve come in just six months.”

If you’re ready to run a business on your own terms, starting an Oven Rescue franchise is perfect for anyone prepared to show up and do the work.
