What’s Included In A Professional Oven Clean?
A professional oven clean includes far more than wiping down the inside of your appliance. A trained Oven Rescue technician will remove and deep clean removable parts, tackle built-up grease and carbon, clean the oven cavity, door glass and seals, then reassemble everything ready to use.
At Oven Rescue, we’ve cleaned thousands of ovens across the UK, from everyday single ovens to AGAs and range cookers. Here’s exactly what’s included when you book a professional oven cleaning service with us – and what you can expect on the day.
The stages of a professional oven clean
1. Inspection and preparation
Every clean starts with a full inspection of your oven. Our technicians check the extent of the carbon build-up, identify any parts that need extra attention, and remove racks, trays and fan components ready for cleaning.
Before anything else happens, we lay down protective coverings across your floor and kitchen area. A professional oven clean should never mean a messy kitchen – we treat your home with the same care we’d want in our own.
2. Deep cleaning of the oven interior
This is where the real work happens. Using professional-grade, non-toxic cleaning products, we remove built-up grease, burnt-on food and carbon deposits from the oven cavity – including the corners, roof, base, door seals and fan compartments that are easy to miss with a domestic clean. Find out why a dirty oven can be dangerous.
3. Cleaning of oven parts separately
Racks, trays and other removable components are soaked in specialist dip tanks carried in our vans. This breaks down stubborn grease and carbon far more effectively than scrubbing alone, and gets into grooves and edges that would otherwise stay grimy.
We also clean the oven door glass, including between the panels where accessible, leaving it streak-free and crystal clear rather than just polished on the surface.
4. Reassembly and finishing touches
Once every part is clean, we reassemble your oven and give all surfaces a final wipe and polish. Your oven isn’t just clean, it’s ready to cook in straight away.
5. Oven repairs and part replacements
A professional oven clean is also a chance to catch small issues before they become bigger ones. Many of our technicians can replace oven bulbs, fix filters and fans, and carry out door seal replacements where needed, helping your oven run safely and efficiently.
6. Extra kitchen appliance cleaning
Most of our customers book more than just the oven. We can clean your hob, extractor fan and microwave in the same visit, giving your whole kitchen a fresh, hygienic finish without booking multiple call-outs. See our full oven cleaning process
What ovens do we cover?
A professional oven clean isn’t a one-size-fits-all job. Different ovens need different techniques, which is why our technicians are trained across the full range:
- Single and double ovens – built-in and freestanding, all major brands
- AGA ovens – hotplates, lids, interior walls, oven floors and door glass
- Range cookers – multiple ovens, grill compartments, burners, hobs and glass doors, all in one visit
Whatever you’re cooking with, we’ve almost certainly cleaned one like it before. Many people book a professional clean to save time instead of trying to clean the oven themselves. Oven cleaning prices vary by appliance size and location, so the final price depends on the specific job, but we pride ourselves on providing a five-star service at a competitive price.
What products do you use for cleaning?
Everything we use is non-toxic, fume-free and eco-friendly. That means no harsh chemical residue left behind, no strong smells lingering in your kitchen, and no need to air the room out before you use the oven again. Our products are safe around children, pets and food surfaces, and are tough enough to shift carbon and grease that’s been baking on for months.
Here’s why you should book a professional oven clean.
How long does a professional oven clean take?
It depends on the type, size and condition of your oven. As a guide:
- Single oven: 1-2 hours
- Double oven: 2-3 hours, and sometimes a little longer than a single oven because of the extra size and compartments
- AGA cookers: timings vary depending on the model and setup
- Larger or more complex appliances can take longer to clean than a standard oven.
If you’re also booking a hob, extractor or microwave clean alongside it, our technician will factor that into the appointment when you get your quote. Read more about how long a professional oven clean takes.
Is the oven ready to use straight away?
Yes. Once the clean is complete and everything has been dried and reassembled, your oven is ready to use. Your technician will make sure all parts have been correctly replaced before leaving
What’s not usually included?
A standard oven clean covers the oven itself, inside and out. It doesn’t automatically include:
Oven repairs beyond bulbs, filters, fans and seals
These are all services we offer, but they’re typically quoted alongside your oven clean rather than bundled in by default – so it’s worth mentioning during booking if you’d like your whole kitchen covered in one visit, especially if other kitchen appliances, removable parts, oven glass, or glass panels need attention as part of the whole process. See before and after photos here.
How often should you book a professional oven clean?
We’d recommend a professional oven clean every 6-12 months, depending on how often you cook. Ovens used daily for roasting, grilling or baking build up grease much faster than ones used occasionally – regular cleaning keeps performance up, extends the life of the appliance, and stops small carbon deposits turning into a much bigger job.
